Gold Prospecting Coordinator

Mitch Mitchell

In September of 1980, Mitch joined the U.S. Coast Guard, as he always had the desire to be part of something bigger than himself and to help his fellow man.  Throughout his career as a Boatswains Mate, he was able to do just that.  Through his different and varied assignments, he learned to wear many hats, but the primary missions were search and rescue, maritime law, and port security.  In 2004, Mitch retired from the USCG with a total combined 22 years active and reserve time.

Mitch has a love for the outdoors; he is an avid hunter, fisherman, and is always itching to get out on any one of his boats.  He understands the healing powers that mother nature holds and that if someone is willing to explore these powers, she will help you heal.  Another outdoor activity Mitch has enjoyed for roughly 25 years is gold prospecting.  Yes sir, there's gold in the Maine hills and mountains.  Mitch kicked off ORO Gold Prospecting Missions in 2022, and continues as the organization's Gold Prospecting Coordinator.
